The International Hearing Society (IHS) is the premier organization advocating for hearing aid dispensing professionals. IHS has been increasing its presence in international advocacy and policymaking, and our presence in Washington, DC, gives U.S. members a stronger voice on federal initiatives influencing hearing healthcare and enables IHS to interact and build upon relationships with industry, consumer, and other government groups. On the local/regional level, we partner with state and provincial chapters, and individual members to advocate on legislative and regulatory issues of interest.  We are also actively engaged in strategies to seek and obtain fairness in payment policies through advocacy.
Your Donations Make a Difference

When you donate to IHS’ advocacy efforts, you are joining a community of passionate hearing care advocates who are dedicated to promoting and protecting the profession. As the only international association for hearing aid specialists, your advocacy donations will be used in a multitude of ways, including:
  • Ensuring that hearing aid specialists continue to be recruited, hired, and onboarded at Veterans Affairs (VA) facilities so that they can serve our nation's veterans. We now have achieved double digit employment at VA facilities due to our advocacy efforts, which were made possible by member donations!
  • Retaining your role with prescription hearing aids as we navigate this new-OTC landscape.
  • Protecting our profession to ensure that hearing aid specialists continue to have a seat at the table in Washington, D.C., state legislatures, the international community, and coalitions.
  • Advocating for hearing aid specialist inclusion IF Medicare Part B coverage of hearing aids advances in Congress.
  • Advancing the profession to include services within our scope of practice, including WI and SD who we collaborated with to pass recent legislation that includes cerumen management in our scope of practice.
  • And so much more!
The progress and wins we have had throughout the years would not have been possible without generous contributions to IHS' advocacy efforts. Any donation, large or small, has an immediate impact on our ability to advocate for issues facing the profession. IHS is on the front line advocating for you daily and we need your support!
